FAQ

Who are you?

I’m Auberon Hedgecoe MNCPS (Accred), a Therapeutic Counsellor offering
in-person and online sessions for adults in a calm, empathetic, confidential environment.

What is your therapeutic approach?

My work is integrative, grounded in a person-centred approach and follows the ethical frameworks of both the BACP and the NCPS. Sessions offer a steady, supportive space to understand your experiences more deeply and to work
at a pace that feels right for you.

How do I begin therapy?

Therapy starts with a free introductory call, giving you the opportunity to ask questions, get a feel for how I work, and consider what you may need. If it feels like a good fit, we’ll arrange an initial 50-minute session to begin our work together.

How can therapy help me?

Therapy can support you in many meaningful ways, including:

• Making sense of thoughts, feelings and stress
• Understanding what you want, need and value
• Recognising patterns and shifting unhelpful cycles
• Exploring how past experiences influence your present
• Strengthening coping skills for anxiety and overwhelm
• Enhancing emotional wellbeing and resilience
• Building self-awareness, confidence and direction
• Developing healthier, more fulfilling relationships
• Creating time and space to slow down and gain clarity
• Examining beliefs that may be limiting or unhelpful
• Navigating change, uncertainty or transition
• Establishing healthier boundaries and self-care practices
• Feeling more grounded, centred and steady

This list is not exhaustive; therapy is shaped around your individual needs.

What issues can therapy help with?

People come to therapy for many different reasons, including:

• Anxiety, stress and low mood
• Relationship or family difficulties
• Life transitions and adjustment
• Identity, self-worth and confidence issues
• Feeling stuck, lost or directionless
• Past experiences affecting the present
• Loneliness, shame or difficult emotions
• Anger and emotional regulation
• OCD
• Eating concerns
• Addiction and recovery
• Boarding school experiences
• Grief, loss and bereavement
• And many other personal challenges

Therapy is tailored to your unique situation.

Do you offer online sessions?

Yes, Therapeutic Counselling is available in person or online, allowing flexibility and accessibility. Quality and confidentiality of online sessions accords with BACP and NCPS ethical standards.

How many sessions will I need?

Everyone works at their own pace, so I offer several options to suit your needs:

Short-term therapy (6–12 sessions) – helpful if you want focused support around a particular issue.

Open-ended therapy – space to go deeper, take your time and work at a pace that feels right for you.

One-off or occasional double sessions (£120) – useful when you want a longer space or to explore something specific.

Sessions are 50 minutes, charged at £70 per session, or £65 each when booked in a block.

If you’re unsure which option is right for you, we can talk it through together in our initial call.
